01Draft in minutes

Templates and briefs become a structured first pass.

02Reply with context

Suggestions that answer the actual piece you read.

03Reuse your archive

Published posts become referenceable material.

The problem

Publishing is not the hard part. The detour is.

Every post crosses five tools. Context is re-explained each time, and the writing loses momentum.

1 surface · context stays put

01Write

Turn a template into a draft that argues something.

Pick a template, give a brief, attach evidence. subshack fills the structure using your own material.

  • Native Substack article templates
  • Briefs, facts and objectives as input
  • Draft references your published work

Reading

“Retention fell 18% the month we started alternating formats.”

Suggested reply

The retention drop you describe matched ours until we stopped alternating formats mid-series. Holding one structure for six issues fixed most of it.

02Engage

Reply with context, not generic comments.

Reading an article or a Note, subshack responds to what it actually argues — and mentions your work only when it fits.

  • Three angles: value, reference, question
  • Notes and article replies in one panel
  • Multiple Note angles from a single idea

03Reuse

Your archive becomes working context.

Sync your Substack posts, then let every draft and reply pull from them under rules you define.

  • Archive sync, search and tags
  • Editable prompt blocks and variables
  • Separate behaviour for Notes and Articles

How it works

Three steps, then
it disappears.

  1. 01

    Install and sign in

The panel appears only on the Substack pages where it helps.

  2. 02

    Sync your own account

Your Notes, posts and subscribers, read from the browser you are already signed in to.

  3. 03

    See what actually worked

Which Notes brought subscribers, which just got seen, and who is worth replying to.

Why we built it

The writing stays yours.
We only remove the detour.

subshack suggests, structures and remembers. It never posts, never invents your opinion, and never speaks for you.

You write. It fetches.

Questions,
answered.

Does subshack publish anything for me?
Never. Every suggestion lands in an editable field. You review, edit and insert it yourself.
Does it work inside Substack?
Yes. The panel runs on top of the Substack interface and inserts text into the editor or reply box you are already using.
Can it use my published articles?
Sync your archive or add URLs. Those posts become referenceable context when drafting or replying.
Can I customize the prompts?
Yes. Editable prompt blocks, reusable variables and reply strategies, set separately for Notes and Articles.
Is it a Chrome extension?
Yes. Subshack (sometimes misspelled “subhack”) installs from the Chrome Web Store and only appears on the Substack pages where it helps.
